Whether you’re working from home for the first time or are a WFH veteran, we’ve all been trying to figure out what we should wear to maintain comfort but look (and feel) put together.
This is something that I hear not just during a mass work from home time, but year around from my private clients- finding comfort in whatever you put on.
With the rise of athleisure, new innovations in fabrics and noteworthy brands– there are more stylish and put together options for men and women to be comfortable while they work from home.
Here are my top 6 comfortable work from home brands for men and women:
The Cashmere Sweatsuit
For those of us working from home, comfort is #1. Looking put together is #2.
That’s why cashmere is a go-to fabric if you’re working from home. I highly recommend a new brand, Italic.
This Direct to Consumer brand uses the same factories as various premium brands (Sandro, Maje and more) but sells them for a lower price– but they don’t skip on quality.
I highly recommend cashmere because not only is it natural fiber (and doesn’t trap heat) but you’ll be so comfortable for those video calls — without looking like you’re wearing 10 year old sweats.
It also is highly durable (especially when you take care of it properly) and lightweight (great for those that run hot)
Each hoodie is finished by hand and is woven from 100% Mongolian cashmere– it’s definitely going to become your favorite go-to.
The (Modern) Athletic Sweatsuit
Reigning Champ is a Canadian Brand that is my go-to for men’s sweats.
They have a tapered bottom which is more flattering, offer a variety of core colors and have very high quality products- they seriously will last you for years and look like you just bought it.
This zip hoodie and slim sweatpant was a bestseller when I was at Equinox — because it is such a flattering silhouette for all body types.
The midweight french terry fabric is the perfect weight to wear on it’s own during warmer months or layer within the colder months.
I like this military inspired khaki colorway to get some spring color into a wardrobe and best of all it will go with all the other core colors in your closet.
The Textured Sweatsuit
This is another go-to brand while I was a Senior Buyer at Equinox and one of my favorites to this day. Wheelers is created and manufactured in NYC and does some of the most interesting textures of sweatsuits for men that I’ve seen.
This Poolside Sweatsuit is made of super soft lightweight terry and is the perfect shade of grey to wear year around.
Both of these pieces would also look great worn together or seperate- pair the hoodie with a pair of navy trousers and sneakers to get a great casual office look.
The Stylish Sweatsuit
UK Brand, Varley, is one of the most stylish activewear brands out there. They also are one of the few that practice minimal waste throughout their product cycle.
This stylish sweatsuit is made of a thicker double pique (think: polo fabric) and has a high neck for those that prefer a turtleneck silhouette.
The raglan sleeves (longer, blousy) gives you extra room to move throughout the day comfortably.
This lighter tan color is perfect for a spring pop that will pair nicely back to core color or even a pop of color.
The Low Maintenance Jumpsuit
Every woman should have a jumpsuit in their wardrobe. Before you say ‘I could never wear that’, first try one from Beyond Yoga.
Why am I recommending a jumpsuit?
It’s just one piece you have to put on (goodbye trying to coordinate outfits) and it’s made of their cozy fleece, which is the most comfortable fabric that you’ll ever wear. It also has a small amount of spandex to help you feel less restricted throughout the day.
Jumpsuits also give you flexibility– wear with a blazer or cardigan for something dressier or pair down with a blanket for a weekend in. You can’t go wrong either way!
Bonus: Beyond Yoga offers extended sizing.
The Cozy Sweatsuit
Lou and Grey is a sister brand to The Loft, a popular workwear store for many women. But it’s all about casual wear and has become a go-to for comfortable, put together lounge apparel.
Their Signature Soft Plush Set is so cozy, offered in a variety of colors and sizing. The fit is true to size and the fabric is so buttery soft, bouncy and plush- you won’t want to take it off!
Need to dress this up for a zoom call?
Since the fabric is softer, you’ll want to layer with a piece that has more structure- like a blazer to give it a more professional feel. Throw on some accessories and you’ll be business up top, cozy on the bottom.
