Wondering if a style transformation is possible for you?
As a personal stylist for professionals, I work with women (and men!) of all different body types and ages.
Read on to learn how I helped three of my female personal styling services clients overcome their unique challenges to create new wardrobes they feel amazing in, and see photos before and after styling.
My client Joanna had recently finished grad school and was starting her new career at an NYC law firm.
Joanna was in the midst of multiple big transitions, having just re-entered the workforce after three years in school and relocated to NYC from the West Coast.
“I realized that throughout my mid to late-20s, I had adopted the California laid-back athleisure style to an extreme,” she says. “Before working with Cassandra, I had a uniform of black leggings, Nikes, and a cotton shirt. It was comfortable and it worked for me when I was living on the West Coast/back in school, but it made me feel underdressed in NY and didn’t reflect where I was currently in my life.”
JOANNA’S BIGGEST SURPRISE
“A good stylist will build a relationship with you and gain your trust,” Joanna says. “It’s actually a much deeper process than just clothes because style is so personal. A good stylist won’t box you into what they think your style should be, but will introduce you to items you may not have considered or previously thought you couldn’t pull off.”
“I no longer stress or feel anxious about what I am going to wear. My closet is efficient and has all the right pieces. I am able to create more looks with less clothes than I had before. Every item serves a purpose (actually, multiple purposes) down to shoes and even outerwear.
I’m less insecure about my body because I have clothes that actually fit, instead of always feeling like my body isn’t ‘right.’
I am more confident. I look my age. I look put together yet still approachable. I stand out for the right reasons.”
My client Lianne is a busy mom of two — and an executive in a male-dominated corporate environment.
Lianne wanted to be able to feel confident getting dressed every morning and ensure that she was communicating the “right” things with her look.
“Before NLW, I only wore a small percentage of my closet and relied heavily on all black attire to simplify getting dressed,” she says. “I also often felt uncomfortable since most of my clothes did not fit well and did not feel like they said ‘executive’ material.”
LIANNE’S BIGGEST SURPRISE
“The fit issue! It was great to have someone help me figure out sizing and brands. That’s something I struggled with in the past. And I would always order things that were too small and feel bad about my figure as a result. It was great to get things that actually fit and feel good about myself.”
My client Natalie is a successful professional in tech who wanted help upleveling her personal brand for her first TED Talk.
Before we worked together, Natalie described her style as “very boring,” noting that on a typical day she “would grab whatever was clean and very likely black.”
For her first big speaking engagement, she wanted a look that conveyed she’s confident, modern, and an expert in her field.
NATALIE’S BIGGEST SURPRISE
“Who knew I needed leather joggers?”
